We are preparing a new format for our web site. If you would like to get a glimpse here is a Sneak Peek. We will be going to the new format in the next few weeks.
The Preschool is now accepting enrollment for the Fall semester. Tell your friends and neighbors. Enrollment is limited and all children are welcome.
The Preschool is also hiring a cook to work part time during the school year. If you are interested in applying, please call Freeda Hagar at 639-6305.
Amy Heape is collecting toys for the Shriner’s Hospital Burn Unit in Shreveport. She’d like to take a van full on August 11th, so if you can donate any new or gently used toys, please bring them to the church or call Amy to schedule a pick-up.
Our church is supporting the Mannford Ministerial Alliance in their efforts to distribute School Supplies to the community’s children. The give-away will be at the Mannford Activity Center on July 31st, from 9 – 11am. You can donate money (make your check out to “MMA”) or you may bring school supplies from this list: #2 pencils, blue or black ink pens, wide-ruled loose-leaf notebook paper, erasers, rulers, glue-sticks, scissors, crayons, or pocket folders.
We will continue to have Vacation Bible School Parents’ Night Out this summer on these Friday nights: July 16th, July 23rd, and July 30th. We need help from all members in these areas: Story-telling, Music, Food, Crafts, Discoveries, Outdoor play, Flyer distribution, Nursery and Decorating. The theme this year is “Galactic Blast!” and the decorations will be very futuristic and space-ship-like. We can have such fun with it! Please pray about how God can use you at our VBS.
Calling all cooks! We are doing a new cookbook as a fund-raiser, and we need your help. Start collecting your best recipes for this volume, because we are planning to include 300 recipes from our congregation. To submit your recipes, or for more information, contact Lauralee Fortin, or Cyndy Whiten.
Please save your aluminum cans for our Youth. These Cans for Kids will be recycled. About once per month, all the cans can be brought to the church and placed in the bin on the south side of the Family Life Center, (please crush the cans first, if possible) and the youth will take them to the recycling center. Please bring only pop cans and aluminum for recycling. The steel or tin cans that veggies come in aren't usable for this. The proceeds from this will assist the youth in their planned service programs.
